Tony Davis

Tony was born in Bradford west Yorkshire and after leaving school worked in Textiles as an Engineer. In 1976 he was made redundant and moved to Worcester with his wife and two sons’, to take up a post in Textiles. In 1978 he was made redundant again. He then went to work at a metal box as a production engineer where he worked until his retirement in 2006.

His main hobby throughout his life was keeping and breeding rare tropical fish in his fish room of 40 tanks. He also took up woodturning in 2004 and came to the conclusion that he could not keep both hobbies going so fish keeping was given up. From the start of his woodturning he has strived to solve some of the problems that came with a constantly moving medium and always moving forward in design and finish. As you will see from his work it spans the whole spectrum or turning from traditional to modern art forms.
