Caro Sweet

Caro Sweet was born in Aylesbury in the United Kingdom in1960. She grew up surrounded by the fields and woodlands of rural Buckinghamshire that provided her with a deep and enduring connection to nature.
Caro, a lifelong artist, has travelled extensively and by her 30’s had created and sold a substantial body of drawings, murals and prints all of which are now in private collections. Caro received her A.F.S. from the Frink School of Figurative Sculpture in the United Kingdom.
Since 1987 Caro has run her own studio where she has worked collaboratively with foundries and materials suppliers to explore and develop new techniques in molding, casting and patinas while extending the boundaries of her figurative work. Caro regularly exhibits in London.
In 2004 Caro took on a much larger studio in Worcestershire in England at which she works on her commissions and creates new pieces. From portrait sculpture and smaller figurative pieces to larger more abstract works for outdoor sites, Caro’s work is predominantly cast in bronze.
Recent projects have seen collaborations with Ironbridge Open Air Museum of Steel Sculpture in the United Kingdom, Tuska Fine Art Foundry at Lexington, Kentucky, US and Sloss Furnaces at Birmingham, Alabama, US that are giving rise to a series of larger pieces cast in iron and aluminium and have given her international exposure.
Throughout her professional career Caro has maintained a high profile as a working artist with regular exhibitions, studio open days and through coverage in local and regional newspapers, magazines, radio interviews and television appearances. Caro is an active advocate and ambassador for the arts.
